Northern Kenya Governors today welcomed the tarmacking of Wajir, Mandera, and Isiolo Road that is meant to connect the region and open up the marginalized counties.

The Governors Mohamed Kuti, Ali Roba, Mohamud Ali, and Kiraitu Murungi said the opening up of the road will spur economic development and open up the region for improved trades.

Isiolo Governor Mohamed Kuti called on investors to take advantage of the novel opportunities that comes with the novel flagship projects to set up manufacturing plants and other big industries in the County.

He said the County will provide an enabling and conducive environment for investment in order to create more work opportunities for the youths and spur economic development.

Kuti noted that Isiolo town will soon grow into a major town in Kenya due to multi-billion shillings road project, resort city, and an international airport that will open up the region to be a preferred destination.

He was addressing in Isiolo today during the launch of the horn of Africa gateway Development project that brought together Six Governors from the region.

He challenged the communities to change their mindset and get prepared for the novel opportunities in order to invest part of their wealth in development.

Mr. Ali said the novel road will help address insecurity issues that have rocked the region for centuries. He said business trade between Moyale, Isiolo, Wajir, and Madera will greatly improve as residents venture into novel markets.
